Getting started
Create your account, secure it, connect a domain and start using your new inbox.
This guide takes you from a new account to a working inbox on your own domain. Most people are done in 15 to 30 minutes, plus some waiting for DNS.
1. Create your account
- Paid plans come with a mailbox and your own
name@eoinbox.comaddress. That address is also your login, and it keeps working even if something goes wrong with your own domain. - The Free plan is a forwarding plan. You sign up with the address you already use (for example Gmail or Outlook), and your eoinbox aliases forward to it.
2. Secure your account
Before you connect anything, open Settings → Security:
- Turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app, or add a passkey.
- Save your recovery codes somewhere safe, such as your password manager.
- Check your recovery address. It must not be on a domain you are about to connect, otherwise a broken domain could also break your recovery.
3. Connect your domain
Open Domains → Add domain and type your domain name. The dashboard shows:
- where your DNS is hosted and whether mail is already handled somewhere else;
- the records to add, with copy buttons, and a live check of each one.
If your DNS is at Cloudflare, you can let us create the records for you. Otherwise follow Connecting your domain and the guide for your DNS provider.
If your domain already receives mail somewhere else (Gmail, Microsoft 365, your web host), do not change the MX records yet. Import your mail first, see Migrating from Gmail or Migrating from Microsoft 365.
4. Create your addresses
Once the domain is verified, add the addresses you want:
- a main address, such as
you@yourdomain.com; - aliases for things like
hello@,shop@ordomains@; - optionally a catch-all, so any address on the domain reaches you.
See Using aliases and catch-all.
5. Read and send
- Use the webmail at app.eoinbox.com.
- Or add your account to any mail app with IMAP and SMTP, see IMAP and SMTP settings.
When you reply to a message, eoinbox automatically sends from the address it was sent to.
6. Optional extras
- Connect your password manager to create an alias for every new login: Bitwarden setup.
- Automate things with the API.
- Connect an AI assistant that can search and draft, but never send: MCP guide.
