Set up DNS at Squarespace Domains

Add the eoinbox DNS records to a domain managed at Squarespace Domains, including former Google Domains.

Menus change. Squarespace Domains updates its dashboard from time to time, so button and menu names may differ slightly from this guide. Look for the DNS settings of your domain; the records you need are always the same. Your eoinbox dashboard shows the exact values and checks them for you.

Squarespace Domains also manages domains that were registered with Google Domains before it closed.

Find the DNS settings

  1. Sign in to Squarespace and open the Domains dashboard.
  2. Select your domain.
  3. Open DNS (in some accounts: DNS → DNS Settings).
  4. Scroll to Custom records and click Add record.

Filling in the form

  • Host: @ for the domain itself, otherwise the name from the table, such as _dmarc or eo1._domainkey.
  • Type: pick the record type.
  • Priority: for MX records, 10 for mx1.eoinbox.com and 20 for mx2.eoinbox.com. For SRV records, 0.
  • Data: the value or target from the table, without quotes. For SRV records, Squarespace may ask for weight, port and target separately (1, the port, mail.eoinbox.com).
  • Save each record.

Remove preset records

If you used Google Workspace, Squarespace shows a Google Workspace preset with Google's MX records. When you are ready to switch, delete that preset (or its MX records). Keep any TXT records you still need, such as Google site verification.

Also check for an existing SPF record (v=spf1 ...) and merge include:spf.eoinbox.com into it.
